Environmental stewardship is a never-ending journey, but Savita is a tireless traveler. We have been pursuing a vision, with the same vigor and perseverance as we did 26 years ago. A vision to contribute towards a sustainable world and a better future envisioned by our CMD Shri Gautam N. Mehra. Today when most corporates are going full steam ahead to knit a green fabric onto their tweed, we are proudly standing tall with a green shawl onto our shoulders as a beacon of guidance for others who hope to tread a similar path. In 1998, we embarked on a scouting mission to identify locations with strong wind potential, laying the groundwork for what would become a transformative journey, not by chance, but by a meticulous choice. 

True to our tagline—‘bonds build businesses’—Savita Oil Technologies Limited has played a pivotal role in combating climate change and nurturing a sustainable, resilient future.

Presently, we are harnessing renewable energy from two power sources – Wind and Solar.

Our Wind Energy portfolio is a testament to our enduring commitment to reliability, resilience and sustainability:

Total Installed Capacity

  • Total installed capacity of 54.15 MW, spread across 18 sites in the 3 wind-rich states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
  • As on 31.03.2025, we are operating 53.1 MW capacity of wind power.

  • Maharashtra :  25.90 MW
  • Karnataka :  14.70 MW 
  • Tamil Nadu :  12.50 MW 

Turbine Fleet

With year-on-year advancements in technology, we have grown from sub-Megawatt series to Megawatt series of Wind Energy Generators (WEGs). Our fleet comprises of 49 WEGs, ranging from 350kW to 1,650kW machines of all major OEMs. This diversified portfolio helps us to maximize the site-specific wind power potential with optimal efficiency.

Historic Moment!

We are incredibly proud to keep our first Wind Power Project up and running over the past two and a half decades. In its 25th year of operation, the said Wind Power Plant has generated at near-optimum capacity which is a remarkable achievement considering climate induced wind variations over the past 25 years and the fact that the WTGs have been operational beyond the technical design life of 20 years.

Solar Energy

Targeted, Efficient, Integrated

True to our name, we are harnessing Savita (सविता : Sanskrit for Sun), the source of all energy, in several forms to achieve the best of results in our quest to combat climate change efficiently. Our solar power initiatives reflect a hyper-focused approach, small in scale but high in impact. With over 2 MWp of rooftop solar capacity installed across our manufacturing units, Savita ensures that Savita directly contributes to reducing our thermal power dependence.

  • Mahad : 496 kWp
  • Kharadpada : 520 kWp
  • Silli : 525 kWp

Our rooftop solar installations are designed for complete captive consumption, strategically located at key positions at our manufacturing units to efficiently offset conventional power requirements. Fully integrated into on-site energy management systems, they ensure maximum utilization and directly reducing reliance on thermal power by a measurable percentage. While distinct from our wind energy business, which serves the utility and other third party consumers at large, this targeted solar deployment strengthens our overall commitment to making clean energy a core part of our business operations.

Through 26 years of this transformative journey, from the early site surveys to navigating challenges of terrain, transmission, and policy, our resolve and technological foresight have enabled us to surmount each hurdle. These achievements are a tribute to our enduring partnerships, technical excellence, and unwavering pursuit of a better future for all. As we celebrate our Silver Jubilee in the renewable energy sector, we look back with pride and look ahead with an ambition to pursue this endeavour with the same vigour and enthusiasm till the Centenary Jubilee and beyond.
